Sad news at the Heifer House

In the midst of all my computer troubles yesterday I took my sweet Homer T. Dog to the vet because he is getting old and needed a check up. Well Homer T has bone cancer. The Doctor said with how old he already is he probably only has about a year and a half left. It has not really sunk in yet. It's way to hard for me to picture him only being around for another year. So for now I am in denial. Denial is a beautiful state to be in.

Oh I am sorry! I hope he is not in any pain. Darn dogs, they get you so wrapped around them. He looks like a great family member! I have been through that state several times.

Yah thanks everyone. We have had him since 1 month before we got married seven years ago he was a stray and picked us I would say he was probably 1 or 2 when he showed up so for a big dog he is old but it is still hard to swallow.

I am so sorry about Homer. It is so horrible when animals get sick and I am at a loss why so many dogs get cancer these days. Did they always or are they just now diagnosing it better for us? I lost my little Chloe after about 9 months of being sick to Cushings & diabetes complications. Bless her little heart she was the princess of our house. We had just lost our big girl of 16 years just a short while before that, she had anal duct cancer. I know how you are feeling and I am sending you HUGS.
